Abstract

This paper intends to analyse the existing connection between the Court and the bucolic worlds within “La Diana” by Jorge de Montemayor. With this goal, this paper develops the concept of «bucolic paradox», applicable to any text both rejecting the Court world – as arising from the flight to a mythical Golden Age –and incorporating it– as the pastoral world constitutes a figurative representation of the aulic universe.
