Lexicografía y humanismo en el Universal Vocabulario (1490) de Alfonso de Palencia

Abstract

This present doctorate thesis focuses on the authorities and classical sources from Universal Vocabulario (1490), by Alfonso de Palencia. The 3530 examples present in the 14000 entries from the dictionary have been extracted and, subsequently, the Latin sources have been located through a methodology based on the contrasting of texts. The thesis is divided in three parts: firstly, a lexigraphical study is realized in order to know the hiper, micro and macrostructure ; the second part focused on the extraction and clasification of examples from the classical authorities present in the Universal Vocabulario; third, the exposition of the Latin sources, used by the author for the elaboration of his work, are shown. The thesis ends with the conclusions extracted from the study that has been carried out and the bibliography that has been consulted.
