Zusammenfassung

MicroRNAs are important modulators of many biological functions such as proliferation, apoptosis, cell specification and differentiation, etc. In this Thesis project we have studied the ability of miR-27b to inhibit cardiac differentiation from stem cells, while miR-23b modulates the contractility of cardiomyocytes obtained from these pluripotential cells. On the other hand, our study carried out during early stages of development, reveal that miR-200b plays an essential role in the migration of epicardial derived cells during the epithelium mesenchymal transition, an event necessary for the correct formation of the heart. The data obtained in this Thesis lay the foundations for the use of microRNAs in obtaining cardiomyocytes from stem cells, as well as in the activation of the epicardium after a myocardial infarction, both important aspects to propose regenerative therapies in the heart.
