Abstract

The main goal of this PhD Thesis is to deepen the knowledge of child-to-parent violence, analyzing the prevalence of this phenomenon and to examine the psychosocial factors related to this type of intra-familiar violence among adolescent and young Chilean people. In addition, the Child-to-Parent Violence Questionnaire (CPV-Q; Contreras, Bustos-Navarrete and Cano-Lozano, 2019) in adolescents and youth Chilean people was adapted. This work was carried out with two samples. The first sample consists of 905 adolescents and the second includes a total of 823 university students. The data indicates a high prevalence of this type of violence, as well as various psychosocial variables such as impulsivity, violence justification, components of socio-cognitive processing, educational styles, exposure to violence at home, behaviour of parental discipline, the way of implementing the discipline, the use of drugs and relationship with conflictive equal groups.
