Abstract

This thesis is developed in the old metallogenetic district of Linares - La Carolina (Jaén), characterized by the existence of important mineralizations of Pb - Ag sulfoantimonides and Cu - Fe sulphides. The work is centered on the district of La Carolina, and more specifically, in the hydrographic basin of the Rio Grande. The waters of this river and its tributaries are stored in the Rumblar reservoir, in order to supply more than 89,000 inhabitants of the province of Jaén. This makes necessary the analysis and control of the concentration of metal(oid)s that exists in these waters and sediments, due to the influence of important mining liabilities. Therefore, the use of geochemical, hydrogeochemical and geophysical prospecting techniques is proposed for the characterization of sediments, waters and mining waste.
