Resumen

The renewal of the historiographic discourses on the concepts of identity and ethnicity has opened an interesting panorama in its archaeological reading possibilities. The traditional essentialist view has given way to a conceptualization of identity as an expression that is flexible and adapted to the historical and sociopolitical circumstances of ancient peoples. Framed in this line, this work refers the Iberian companies within the framework of the Rome meeting. This contact reinforced certain speeches identity rooted in ancient traditions that are renewed for new messages. The analysis of certain mythical narratives showing vascular iconography or the re-experiencing of ritual practices offer a good example of this phenomenon of recreation of active construction of ethnic identity among the Iberian peoples.
