Abstract

This study has investigated the use of Music as a teaching resource, to promote the emotional development of students with Down Syndrome. Its realization has been carried out through an intervention plan carried out with eight users of a specific Association on this type of student body, in the city of Almería. This plan contemplated carrying out a total of eight work sessions in which a set of activities were designed to promote the emotional development of the participants, taking Music as the backbone. In each of them, special care has been given to the presentation of the activity, the pace of work, the relationship between the attendees, and the selection of the works, and musical resources used. The data obtained and analyzed, resulting from the intervention, suggests that the use of Music has favored the observation, experience, identification, recognition and enjoyment of emotions by different users.
