Resumen

After the Spanish Civil War and during the Franco’s Dictatorship we attended a complex process of repair and reconstruction of the historical-artistic heritage of Spain, which would be carried out by agencies like the General Directorate of Devastated Regions and the General Direction of Architecture (that they would come in addition to the General Direction of Fine Arts, which was commissioned to carry out this work since its establishment in 1915). Within the gear of Francoist’s Spain arise the National Board of Reconstruction of Parochial Temples, national agency active between 1941-1979 focused on rehabilitation and recovery of the religious buildings, giving economic subsidies for this purpose. His performance was varied, controlling the restoration of religious buildings (monasteries, temples, chapels, hermitages, cathedrals, episcopal palaces, etc.), or concerning buildings to parish life (seminars, parish houses and schools, charitable institutions, etc.). In this article we try to bring knowledge to the activity of this organism, focusing especially in the province of Jaén (Spain), where they took place numerous interventions.
