Abstract

Décalage, is a French term that defines the idea of “out of balance” or the difference between two values (in which one of them is usually a reference of quantity). Décalage, as a tool, is frequently used in artistic researches related to audio-visuals and music for the image. Furthermore, décalage has improved our teaching at the University of Jaén (in subject such as: Aesthetic context, or Visual arts and audio-visual). Décalage has turn into a perfect way to go deeper in the role of montage in audio-visuals and how music works in movies or documentary films. Consequently, the use of décalage in our educative context has become a real new technology to understand how artistic methods works in audio-visuals.
