Resumo

The different forms of socialism have suffered significant loss of prestige. The cognitive foundations of Marx's thought are today inadequate. The aspirations of socialism to a substantial improvement of society and full human development remain valid. Today, in a world, ours, in which multiple barbarisms reign, how can these socialist aspirations be resurrected? Morin presents some proposals, which he articulates around two major projects: the Earth as the common homeland of humanity and a policy of civilization aimed at achieving good coexistence among all human beings. Although it considers that the threat of disaster hangs over humanity, nevertheless, it opens itself to the hope of a better world, based on the unexploited brain capacities of the human being and on the provision of technical means to ensure all the inhabitants of the world. Planet a minimum of well-being.
