Abstract

The article aims to explain the phases of the economic cycle through the study of what happened in Spain in what we have been in the 21st century. To do this, we will analyze the evolution of the main macroeconomic indicators: GDP, population, inflation, unemployment, public accounts, etc. and the main effects it has had on the Spanish economy. Specifically, we will see how the variation rate of GDP has determined a period of expansion between 2000 and 2007 and a recession period between 2008 and 2013, where we can observe the typical crisis in W, and as of 2014, the expansion phase of the economic cycle began again. In addition, we will know the evolution of the other indicators analyzed, which will allow us to know if we have overcome the great recession of 2008, although for now, the data indicate that the recovery has not reached all of Spanish society, maintaining high levels of economic inequality, that if they are not minimized, they will mortgage the future of our country
