Zusammenfassung

Neighbourhood associationism became an important political actor during late Francoism and the transition to democratic consolidation in Spain. Andalusia was not an exception, since the lack of facilities and democratic participation caused a social response in Andalusian cities and villages. This social response cannot be understood without the previous appearance of collective identities inspired by certain political cultures. A new social imaginary questioning the dictatorship also influenced this process. Conflicts in neighbourhood movements made people from these associations learn to defend their claims, thus creating a different idea on citizenship
