Abstract

In this paper I edit and analyze the six poems by Manuel Machado (five of them unpublished) that appeared in the periodical “Correo de París” during the years 1899-1900, coinciding with his stay in the French capital. These compositions (one written in French and another translated by Konstantin Balmont) show his transition from a still nineteenth-century to a modernist poetry, without forgetting his neopopular roots.
