Abstract
This paper deals with rockrose communities of Cistus ladanifer in the eastem part of Sierra Morena ranges (S. Spain). We analyse 34 phytosociological relevés with two multivariant methods (ordination and classification) using Statistica program. As a result of this statistical treatment, five groups of relevés are obtained, which can be considered as five ecological variants of the association Genisto hirsutae-Cistetum ladaniferi Rivas Goday 1956. Further- more, the synthetic phytosociological table elaborated after the statistical analysis, allows us to recognize the diferential fioristic elements such as Cistus monspeliensis, Erica australis, Cistus populifolius subsp. populifolius and Phlomis purpurea. This last species is the one that characterizes a termophilous and neutrophilous variant we describe here for the first time
