Abstract

This article offers a textual study of the comedy titled Las travesuras del valiente Pantoja, by Agustín Moreto. Firstly, we pay attention to several cataloging problems that have affected to the present the revision of the editions of the work. In addition, we study a new and important testimony, probably printed in Seville around 1675. We also analyze the variants located in the old editions of the work. On the other hand, we analyze an entremés that coincides with a scene of the comedy, as an indirect testimony of the work. This analysis allows us to hypothesize about the textual relations that contributes to elucidate both text problems and other issues related to the dating and authorship.
