Abstract

When preparing a didactic proposal for Spanish for Specific Purposes (SSP), it is important to consider the lexical contents of a specialized area to develop the lexical competence through strategies that allow the integration of different skills. Thus, the objectives set out are to reflect on the role of the lexicon and the analysis of storage and access strategies to develop lexical competence. In addition, the techniques for the development of lexical contents within the medical field are analyzed through a didactic proposal focused on the teaching and learning of medical terminology based on the task approach. The different tasks show that the learning process must occur through strategies that encourage reflection, retention, and use of the terminological units in that specialized area.
