Resum
The NO-DO was the oldest audio-visual project of all the documentary expositions of the Franco regime; it served as a platform for the regime, as a documentary archive and as a creator of a mythical model of reality. In addition to creator of an image of post-war Spain and the dictator Francisco Franco, in accommodation with the different historical moments and interests of the regime. This propagandistic approach can only be the beginning of a critique of the way in which a concrete image of reality is constructed, how truths are established with the image as a discourse and, finally, the power to deconstruct the ultimate vocation of the NO- DO as a news documentary: the classification and normalization of the gaze, first, of the contemporary people to the product and, on the other, the one we use when we do it with a file that, closed on itself, tends to a multiplicity of meanings that open the possibility of observing the NO-DO as a socio-cultural product. In short, we propose in our communication the view of the NO-DO not only as an audio-visual propaganda product, but also, above all, as a cultural product that normalizes and archives the truth that it tries to show in the form of Cartesian political discourse and where Above what it shows is what it builds.
