Abstract
This article will analyse two provisions during the time of Emperor Claudius in relation to the ius liberorum: the first one gives specific privileges to certain categories of people and spreads the ius liberorum to women in maritime transport business. And the second one, the lex Claudia de tutela, goes beyond the exemption of guardianship over women, who are granted the ius liberorum, since it abolishes the archaic and contrived tutela adgnatorum feminarum.
