A vueltas con Andrés de Vandelvira en la iglesia de Mancha Real

Starting from some unpublished drawings by Vandelvira, made for the construction of a chapel in the parish church of Mancha Real (Jaén), and the annexed documentation kept in the Jaén Diocese Historical Archives, we analyze the elevation solutions repeated in other churches in the Diocese. Such as the lateral portal in Sabiote, built in 1575 in a clear Vandelviran style, following a triumphal model originated in the portal of the church of San Miguel in Jaén, although the arcade solution disappeared there, or it was never executed. The drawings confirm as well the employ of columns as supporting elements, also present in some other churches in the province, such as in Rus, which now we know was designed by Vandelvira, though we think in the case if Mancha Real it was finished later.
