Medidas de la inteligencia emocional en árabe marroquíla escala de inteligencia emocional de Wong y Law

Resumen

La inteligencia emocional es un concepto ampliamente extendido y analizado en diversos países. Sin embargo, apenas se ha realizado ninguna medida de IE en sociedades de cultura afro-árabe debido a su escasa tradición en validar este tipo de instrumentos. En Marruecos, la mera traducción de estos instrumentos es una práctica común que debería evitarse, puesto que se hace necesario incorporar las singularidades culturales y lingüísticas del país. Por eso, el objetivo de nuestro estudio era la adaptación cultural de la Escala de inteligencia emocional de Wong y Law al contexto marroquí. Esta versión podría entonces utilizarse extensamente en otros países norteafricanos y entre los inmigrantes de los países de acogida de esta población. En el estudio participaron 273 estudiantes de grado de origen marroquí (178 mujeres y 95 hombres; con una media de edad de M = 22.17, DT = 4.09), que completaron un cuestionario adaptado a su cultura a través del método de la retraducción. Para determinar la validez del constructo, se analizaron los datos por medio de un análisis factorial confirmatorio. La escala final resultó en un modelo factorial de segundo orden con cuatro factores de primer orden compuestos de 16 ítems. Esta estructura respalda la del original para el árabe marroquí y otros países de lengua árabe. Así mismo, los resultados confirman la validez de criterio del instrumento.
