Resumen
An observational, descriptive, cross-sectional, mixed-focus study was carried out. The objective was to characterize the autonomous learning strategies employed by the entire population under investigation, composed for 138 students enrolled in the semesters from third to sixth, during the academic period October 2015 - February 2017, in the career of Physical Culture, of the National University of Chimborazo, Ecuador, who agreed to participate in the research. The data were obtained through the application of two validated questionnaires: one related to the Autonomous Work Strategies and the other to the Evaluation of Academic Goals, motivation, organization and study techniques were the variables of interest; The categories of "many times" and "sometimes" among the indicators studied predominated.
