Résumé
This article analyzes the use of popular humor with particular attention to "La pícara Justina". In light of a theoretical text by López Pinciano, "Philosophía antigua poética", the author studies which elements of the popular tradition were considered humorous in the early 17th century. Furthermore, this article studies the linguistic procedures particularly related to popular humor, with special attention to "Elocuencia española en arte" by Jiménez Patón, and the "Arte de la lengua española castellana" by Correas.
