A new methodology for the autonomous learning of the alumni of engineering degrees is described in this work. In particular, this methodological proposal has been used for teaching both theoretic and practical aspects of the computer architecture subject of the Master degree in Telematics Engineering. The proposed learning strategies have been designed for teaching the specific contents of both SIMD (single instruction stream, multiple data stream) and MIMD (multiple instruction stream, multiple data stream) parallel computing paradigms. Likewise, it has been provided telematic support to both the lecturer and the alumni of the subject by means of using E-Learning web-based platforms such as ILIAS and another similar one based on WebQuests. Finally, this work shows some of the most relevant results obtained with this pilot scheme and aiming to retrieve the suitability degree for using the proposed learning strategy in other academic disciplines.
