Abstract
Our knowledge of revolutionary and social changes in the rural areas of the republican rearguard, have experienced significant progress in recent years. Many peasant families lived it as something positive, by giving them the war the opportunity to put into practice the ideas spread from the nineteenth century on the collectivization and socialization of land. Following the introduction this process and its quantitative and theoretical significance is analyzed. Those who participated voluntarily and enthusiastically saw it as a real alternative to solve their social and economic problems in the Spain of the 1930s.
