Abstract

In this study, the results and interpretations of a few archaeological excavations performed in the Historic Center of Jaen are presented. In that area, a brief reference form the XVII Century situated the palaces from the "moor kings"; which were interpreted as the probable seat of the almohad gobern of the city. The works have revealed at least two complexes with different pavillions and gardens, linked together. They open the door to the existence of others structures, the most immediate parallel, saving the obvious differences of size and conservation, would be the palatine complex in Seville.
