Despite of the growth of universities and students of last decades in Spain, social class continues being a classic variable in explaining inequity forms of access to higher education. First part of this paper analyzes different ways in which educational preferences and experiences are constructed in relation to social class of students. Second part mainly focuses in the consequences of increasing inequality of the current educational reform: the policy about grants. This restrictive policy is producing more precarious life conditions in young people who depend of grants, and a worsening of limitations and difficulties in working class students, which had still more constraints even before the present crisis context of cuts and reforms. We think these students, more conditioned by tuition fees and harder requirement for obtaining grants, will experience important risk of exclusion as a result of this class reform that is taking place in Spanish university.
