Representación semántica y fonológica de dibujos y palabras: ¿acceso diferencial o sistemas de memoria?

Resumen

En este artículo se explora la posible disociación entre los sistemas a los que acceden dibujos y palabras y el orden de acceso a los mismos. Los procedimientos empleados son de facilitación semántica y fonológica con distintas combinaciones de dibujos y palabras. Los resultados muestran que el patrón de facilitación depende del tiempo de presentación del estímulo de preparación (prime). Cuando los estímulos se presentan durante 1000 ms., la presencia de facilitación depende de la tarea, de la modalidad del estímulo objetivo, y de factores estratégicos. Con tiempos de presentación de 32 ms, los cambios de modalidad entre el estímulo de preparación y objetivo son importantes, indicando que en este momento se están realizando análisis visuales de los estímulos. Con 50 ms., aparecen los primeros efectos de facilitación semántica, pero sólo cuando el estímulo previo es un dibujo.
