Abstract

Science fiction literature has been studied from a theoretical perspective around three fundamental categories: myth, utopia, and fantasy. In spite of that, criticism has not always agreed with the conceptualization of these elements or with the role that the play or should play in literature. In this essay we deal with the most crucial questions related to this problem.
