Abstract
The purpose of this conference paper is reflecting on the projected image by the various footage filmed by NO‐DO through a case study, the province of Jaén. The Spanish newsreels and the documentaries’ analysis filmed in this geographical context (more than fifty) are the base of this paper. In particular, it is paid attention to the treatment gave the great intervention of the State in forest, hydraulic, colonising, and economic development subject. Between the more general results, it is emphasised the interest that the feature film coming from this source has, not only for the landscape studies, but also for the recovery and the interpretation of the territorial memory.
