Abstract
The avalanche taken place in the slope ESE of Peña Gabarda, near the Spa of Panticosa (Central Pyrenees, Huesca, Spain) in the morning of 2-March-2001, slipped on a channel where the frequency of avalanches is very high and several works of defense of avalanches have been built. It is a favored coalition avalanche for the high temperatures and precedent rains taked stability the mantel nival in turn deposited on another anterior of different physical characteristics. This avalanche affects to a highway enough trafficked, for what its degree of risk is very high.
