Resumen

Loma de Úbeda is a territory with great landscape uniformity, on having had turned into one of the clearest examples of olive monoculture into Andalusia. This Mediterranean fruit tree has not stopped spreading and being intensified in the last decades, being the introduction of new designs of plantation and the generalization of the irrigation the reasons that better explain his high current productivity. A precise illustration of these changes is the one that corresponds with Water Mass 05.23 Úbeda, which we use as example to analyze the access and the management of the water resources. Our investigation contains a combination of documental analysis and interview in depth with distinguished actors from the process of territorial transformation associated with this productivist model, which we finally noted achievements, deficiencies and challenges.
