Abstract
The reforestation policy developed on Andalusia between 1940 and 1970 decisively contributed to the radical change of its vegetable landscapes, as much in the mountain ranges located inside the region, as in the long coast. Around 400.000 hectaresthat were reforested, mainly were taken up by species of genus pinus (78%), while most of rest hectares were reforested with eucalyptus and another exotic species completely unknown in the region. During this intervention, the socio-economic situation of lots of Andalusian localities improved, whose population realized the reforestation tasks. However, the new vegetable land cover pose many social and ecologic problems, much of them current nowadays.
