Medidas de contención y de seguridad biológica en los laboratorios de investigación de nivel 3 de bioseguridadsituación de los laboratorios españoles y propuesta de mejora legislativa

Abstract

Deliberate manipulation of biological agents in research labs entails a need for them to have a series of containment and biological security measures, which will be imposed both by the corresponding risk evaluation and the applying regulations. The reglamentary impositional measures are insufficient to guarantee workers’ health and safety, so it becomes a requirement to put forward a new list of measures based on reference documents and justified by their presence in the Spanish research labs. This Doctoral Thesis is a study and analysis of these measures, focused on the ones corresponding to work with Risk Grade 3 biological agents, to put forward a questionnaire which will be used as a basis for the comprobation of their application in the Spanish research labs. In light of these results, a list of measures will be put forward for a reform of the legislation
