Abstract

Seismic shocks, that have hit countries such as El Salvador, create the need to develop effective solutions in fast-response housing. The main objective of this thesis is the search for alternative solutions in sustainable social housing (emergency accommodation) in isolated rural areas, analyzing the construction systems tested in the El Salvador area, proposing a model executed with light metal structure, which optimizes the cost (approx 100-200 $ / m2 / housing), structural and constructive security, hygiene, health, energy saving. Allthispromotingself-construction, dry assembly, sustainability and energy efficiency. The viability for the development of this research is favored by the good relations with the José SimeónCañasUniversity (UCA), of El Salvador, that allows the testing in its facilities of the proposed experimental model. Theresultaims to be extrapolated to any country in need of such facilities.
