Resumen

In remote places, conventional electrification cannot be implemented due to the topography of the place and the high infrastructure costs. In this case, the use of renewable energy systems is a viable solution to this problem. The integration of two or more renewable energy sources is more reliable than the generation with a single source. This integration is known as a hybrid system. The correct technical sizing of the system and the adoption of optimization techniques ensures the technological and economic viability of the hybrid system. Studies on the technical sizing, economic technical analysis, modeling and simulation of hybrid systems have been carried out in isolated communities. But a very small number of works contemplate the integration of hydrokinetic turbines, which is contemplated in this thesis. New component models have been developed for a complete hybrid system in the MATLAB-Simulink environment.
