Abstract

This study aims to describe, according to the dimensions of Geert Hofstede, the organizational culture of the Universidad Nacional del Este. It is about a descriptive research which doesn't present hypothesis because it seeks to characterize a phenomenon by knowing their variables, A Likert questionnaire is applied and complemented with open questions which aim to deepen in obtaining data, as to compare the quantitative with the qualitative data. The results allow the unveiling of the characteristics of an organization whose culture is more focused on results than in process, is more parochial than professional, is more oriented to people than tasks, is geared more to a culture with high control than a low control, which works as a more opened system than c1osed, and that is rather normative than pragmatic.
