Epidemiología de la hepatitis C en la provincia de Jaéninfluencia de ARN viral y genotipo

This dissertation tries to explain the current epidemiological situation of the chronic hepatitis C. We have tried to identify the factors associated to a higher development of the Liver Fibrosis, Cirrhosis and Hepatocellular Carcinoma in somee ill people. Between these factors, we have realized that the age is one of the decisive factors of the Fibrosis evolution. Furthermore, our results would support the use of the level of transaminases or the prothrombin activity in our usual clinical practice. These laboratory tests are economic and easy to achieve, and they could notice the difference between different phases of the Fibrosis and Cirrhosis. However, we have not been able to obtain any conclusion about the viral load and genotype. Anyway, our results have been obtained of a observational study so that we should interpret them prudently although they are enough important to take into account the possibility of future studies in order to know the natural history of the disease.
