Abstract

This thesis has presented five control strategies that can be used for the energy management system of hybrid system powered by FC, battery and se. Each of the five control strategies presented in this work determines, in different way, the FC and battery reference powers, while the SC is used to control the OC bus voltage. The operation mode control is based on operation modes (OMC) of the hybrid system. The cascade control uses cascade control loops in arder to generate the reference powers. The third one is based on the concept of equivalent consumption minimization strategy (ECMS). Finally, the fourth and fifth control strategies generate the reference powers from fuzzy logic and predictive control. These control strategies were characterized, tested and compared when applied to a real hybrid system. The system is composed by a 150kW PEM-FC, a 90Ah Li-ion battery and a SC bank with a total capacity of 12.6 F. The simulation results reflect the optima! performance of the presented control strategies.
