Abstract

The focus of this research is the reconstruction of the history of education of Jódar (Jaén). The research analyzes the development of primary education in Jódar nineteenth Century. Is inserted into the local Studies of the History of Education in the nineteenth Century in its various sections: schooling, rates of illiteracy, teaching practices, educational policy, the life of its protagonits: teachers, students. Supposed to further deepen the knowledge fo the genesis and evolution of the educational system in teh contemporary era. Add to that a gender perspective, as well as the vacuum is found systematic specific referentes than half of the school population –women- generally discriminated against.
