Abstract

The intermunicipality , a institutionalized articulation betwenn interconnected and interdependent local governments to implement one or more policies under the rule of horizontal coordination without the existence of a principie of hierarchy , is an emerging phenomenon of the municipal agendas in Argenti na since 1990. Since then the emphasis was on the agenda for its application as an alternative type of local goberment management. Our aim is to study the dynamics of the process from the beginning of the Democratic Transition Processso far. This implies considering the phenomenon in both argentinean provinces who developed explicit policies and those without, as well as national policies and local cases. The lntermunicipality, despite being part of the local agenda, is still very relevant in the daily dynamics of municipal management.
