Abstract

This Thesis is based on the effects of the development of a border territory played by the Kingdom of Jaén during the fifteenth century and how the everyday life and the town planning were driven by Miguel Lucas de Iranzo, Constable of Castile. This fact can be corroborated analyzing his chronicle, which information, checked with other documents, show the image of a character that, in his eagerness of looking the nobility that he did not have, simulated a way of life learnt during his stay on Enrique’s IVth court of Castile. Through this Thesis we try to analyze the gothic and mudejar architecture in the province of Jaén, and also the alteration repairs set upon in a transitional period between the Late Middle Ages and the beginning of the Modern Ages.
