Abstract

One of the main consequences of sedentarism, that characterizes our style of life, is the increase of back pain rate. This study presents an applied educational research in the area of Physical Education at Primary and Secundary Education levels in Andalusia. The main goals are to measure the prevalence, to quantify the back pain at those ages and to design an intervention programme to reduce it. The instrument is easy to use and is trustworthy, to sum up, the prevalence of back pain is 73.2% with a quantification of 2.53 and the application of the intervention programme shows that the subject of Physical Education is the best area to improve students health, even though the low lective part of the subject makes the results to be delayed in time.
