Resumo

The work presented is a descriptive empirical study of a transverse nature, mainly quantitative with a sample of 356 children aged between 10 and 12 years. The objective is to analyze the precompetitive stress symptoms presented by children participating in competitive sports, measuring the degree of resilience presented by the whole sample to verify their influence as a coping strategy to minimize such stress. Questionnaires have been used as an instrument of measurement and data collection, which confirm that the participants present a high stress with mainly physiological and social symptoms, a low level of resilience and eloquently a study of significant relationships that have appeared between the scores of the questionnaires and the items of each one of them
