Abstract

This thesis seeks to contribute new explanatory factors of the transition process to Lean Management, both internally and on the level of the supply chain. This is divided into four chapters which address several interrelated and complementary objectives. The first of them evaluates the state-of-the-art of research into the links between Lean Management and Supply Chain Management in the aerospace sector, which has allowed us to identify a series of gaps. Thus, we intend to address these gaps through an empirical research, specifically a case study research in this sector. Thereby, in the second chapter we seek to identify the factors that might play a crucial role in the adoption process of Lean Management. In the third chapter, we explore the key factors related with the human resources management and the cultural change during different phases of the Lean Management transition. Lastly, in the fourth chapter we intend to identify the determinant factors that must be managed in order to achieve a successful adoption of the Lean Supply Chain Management.
