Abstract
This article is focused on the treatment of terms related to phonetics and phonology in the dictionaries of the Real Academia Española published during the 18th and 19th centuries, from the Diccionario de Autoridades to the DRAE’S 13th edition, in 1899. In these pages we analyze the addition of new words, their definitions and possible influences, with the aim of tracing the evolution that phonological studies experience from a diachronic and purely lexicographic perspective.
