Doctor by the Universidad de Jaén with the thesis Investigación y desarrollo de técnicas de estimación multi-pitch y su aplicación a la transcripción automática de señales musicales y polifónicas 2009. Supervised by Dr. P. Vera-Candeas, Dr. Nicolás Ruiz Reyes.

F.J. Canadas-Quesada received his Ph.D. degree from the University of Jaen (Spain) in 2009. Since 2006, he has been with the Telecommunication Engineering Department of University of Jaen. Currently, he is Associate professor in Signal Processing and Communications area. His research interests include factorization algorithms and machine learning applied to biomedical signal processing, audio signal processing (e.g., sound source separation) and ultrasounds. He is co-author of more than 30 conference publications, more than 25 Journal Citation Reports (JCR) publications and several scientific book chapters covering audio signal processing. He has been involved in research projects of the Spanish Ministry of Science and Education (MEC), the Government of Andalusia and private companies. Recently, he is the Main Researcher related to I+D+i projects focused on signal processing applied to biomedical sounds.
