The role of strategic leadership in the success of SME'sa comparative case study of the development of the olive oil industry in Saudi Arabia and Spain

Abstract

This doctoral thesis focuses its attention on the development of the olive oil industry in Saudi Arabia and Spain, through the comparison between the birth of olive cooperative models and the Saudi olive oil economic growth strategy, whose lines of development affect the Saudi olive oil industry as is the case of the Al-Jouf industry. After making the comparison, an analysis of the leadership factors that can affect the development of the olive oil industry is carried out, ending with the application of these indicators in the olive oil sector in Saudi Arabia. The methodologies applied focus on carrying out a case study, panel of experts and importance-performance matrix to provide interesting data on this economic transformation and its comparisons between Spain and Saudi Arabia.
